Nintendo's E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo) Press Conference Announcements
Wii Sports Resort
Nintendo's demo of Wii Sports Resort featured the Motion Plus upgraded Wii remote being used in 3 of the sports within the game. The Motion Plus, which plugs into the Wii remote, allows better movements. Wii Sports Resort is scheduled to be released in spring 2009. Wii Music
The game is nothing like Guitar Hero or Rock Band. You begin by selecting a song, selecting an instrument, and simply pretending to play. The game features over 60 instruments to select from. This is a game for the casual player since it doesn't require the player to have any musical or timing skills at all, it's more of pretend to play. It seems like a good game for small kids more then adults, but wait for the game to come out before deciding. Wii Music will feature the use of balance board for the drum set pedals and the use of the Wiimote for most other instruments. The Nintendo demo from E3 shows the Wiimote being used has a saxphone and the Wiimote with Nunchuk and balance board for a drum set.
Animal Crossing: City Folks
The Animal Crossing series will be coming to Wii. Animal Crossing: City Folks which features a WiiSpeak microphone comes out November 2008. The WiiSpeak microphone will be sold separately for $29.99 and allows Internet voice chat among Wii Friends while playing the game. WiiSpeak attaches to the top of the console's sensor bar and players just speak up to chat online.
Nintendo's Sales and Marketing
Nintendo is not shy in clearing starting that there is a large market for women and girl players, along with casual gamers in which they have just started to go after. The video below not only shows Nintendo's sales and marketing plans but they also showed three new games coming out for the Wii. Those games include Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Rayman Raving Rabbids TV Party(Fall 2008) and Call of Duty World at War. In addition, they display
Guitar Hero: On Tour for DS which is one of the hottest games out and has done great in sales. Also being worked on is Rockstar Games "Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars" for the DS.
