Here are some tips to help you keep your Wii in good working condition.

Game Discs

Make sure your game discs are not dirty with dust or fingerprints before you insert them into your console.
Hold your game disc by the edges, trying not to put your fingers on the disc surface.

Using a clean water damp cotton cloth, wipe from the center out toward the outside. (Do not wipe in a circular pattern) Nintendo warns against wiping your dics in a circular motion since it can damage your dics.

Advice for keeping your Wiimote working properly

  • Do not leave your Wiimote on the floor to be step on.
  • Make sure you have clean hands when handing your Wiimote so you don't end up with a dirty and sticky controller.
  • If your Wiimote is not responding correct to your movements it might be time to change your batteries.
What to do if you have a sticky Wii Controller Button?
Nintendo suggest the following action when you have a sticky controller button:
1. Clean your controller with a damp toothbrush.
2. Make sure that the toothbrush is not soaking wet (just wet the toothbrush and shake the excess water off), then using the toothbrush brush between the buttons on the controller.
3. Leave the controller to dry for a few hours before using it again.
